Everest- The Other Side

Based on real events, the documentary Everest- The Other Side follows 50-year-old extreme mountaineer Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson in their quest to clim29,032 ft to the summit of Mount Everest’s North Face and complete its first ever ski descent.

The North Face, is Mount Everest’s most treacherous and dangerous terrain. Five people climbed it but skiing down the over 9000 ft to the Rongbuk Glacier base camp, at mostly 50 degree slopes, for four hours was considered an impossible task.
Technically impressive, and best seen on IMAX, is Leo Hoorn and Erich Roepke’s cinematography which includes body camera, drones, hand held images and helicopters.

Directors Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, Best Documentary Feature Oscar winners for Free Solo (2018), deliver an intense, gripping drama. The daring expedition is a demonstration of skill, courage and perseverance in overcoming adversity, especially after tragedy.
